Ok, so if I wasn’t freaked out enough about Krystal losing her job, two of my coworkers were just fired. Yep, that’s the sound of me freaking out!
Logically, I know I’m safe. For now. All my bosses, including the CEO, are always showering me with praise. I work hard, I do a good job, and neither of the people just fired do either of those things: one comes in perpetually late, they both take really long lunches, and neither make large contributions to the team. (I know that sounds harsh, especially because one of them is a friend of mine, but that’s just honesty.)
But still…
I may know I’m safe, but my racing heart apparently doesn’t. Head down, focusing on work now, holding my breath…
It’s always so hard when people at work around you are let go! I had my first experience with that a couple of months ago. Makes you really appreciate your job. I wouldn’t let it worry you too much, though. You are obviously doing well!
My work has recently been very enthusiastic with writing people up and actually fired someone too. I share your sentiments of feeling nervous.
Ugh. How awful. It’s such a bad feeling when you see people around you (especially friends) being let go. It sounds like you’re doing a great job and you have nothing to worry but, but I understand feeling nervous. I’d be the same way…
I agree that it’s difficult to see people around you fired. I had it happen at my last job (and it’s the reason why I left) and I was gripped with a panic that I would be next. Now, I realize I need to have a back-up plan…an EF that will carry me over while I search for another job.
Hey! I love the Goals bar chart on your side bar – can you tell me where/how you got that? My email is remarkablelulu@yahoo.com and my blog is remarkablelulu.blogspot.com.
THANKS!
